Established as a City of West Chicago department in 1975, the West Chicago City Museum serves to bring history and art to life in the community. Through research, programs, and exhibits it aims to collect, preserve and interpret materials related to the heritage of West Chicago and its surrounding region. Built in 1884, the former Turner Town Hall serves as the home of the West Chicago City Museum. Recognized as an important site by the National Register, it was the seat of local government for over 90 years and also hosted police and fire departments, as well as cultural events. Preserving the city’s rich history, two floors of exhibits serve to tell its story and special events throughout the year celebrate this heritage. Come discover all that this Museum has to offer!
