NATIVE SPECIES. Little Bluestem is a low maintenance grass with an upright clump form and a fine texture. The leaves are a mixture of blues, greens and purples in the spring and summer, turning to shades of orange, red and bronze in the fall. It mixes well in a more formal garden with other ornamentals or a can be used in a prairie restoration project with native plants. It prefers dry soils and full sun.
