Also called Blazing Star or Gayfeather, Liatris is great by any name. Often used in cut flower arrangements because of the unique flower spikes, available either purple or white, this plant is a winner. Flowering in mid-summer to fall on lily-like stems, Liatris will be welcome in the colorful perennial border. It is a nice companion with nearly anything, and is prized as a native plant. Even the butterflies love it!
