Fothergilla produces attractive, scented white blooms in a bottlebrush shape in spring. This shrub can be grown in almost any soil except one that is excessively dry. This plant loves the clay soils found in our area and full shade. There are no serious diseases or pests that are common to this shrub. Fall color on this shrub is a lovely yellow but can be multiple colors as well.
