Holly Winterberry
Winterberry is a deciduous shrub (it will lose its leaves in the winter) that puts on spectacular shows of red berries in the fall and winter. Green throughout most of the year, it has small white flowers that are relatively insignificant before the berries steal the show later in the year. These red berries look stunning with a backdrop of gleaming white snow and are great when massed together in groups of three or five. Winterberry grows happily in wet areas of the landscape and will tolerate sun or part shade. Winterberry is a must in the four-season garden.
